Lakes Region ThermalScan Receives EPA Award !
Lakes Region ThermalScan is pleased to announce that it has received a 2011 Home Performance with ENERGY STAR Century Club Award from the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency and the U.S. Department of Energy.
This Century Club Award recognizes Lakes Region ThermalScan as one of a select few companies throughout the United States, and the only New Hampshire company, that has improved the energy efficiency of more than 100 homes in the past year through the Home Performance with ENERGY STAR program.
Chandler von Schrader, with the ENERGY STAR Program at EPA, announced "These Century Club Contractors are industry leaders committed to using building science to maximize energy savings, comfort and sustainability. By making our existing housing stock more energy efficient, these Century Club Contractors are at the forefront of our nation's efforts to reduce pollution generated from power plants that provide energy for our communities."
LR ThermalScan Achieves Top Honors in ENERGY STAR New Home Certifications
Lakes Region ThermalScan is pleased to announce that we have been informed by New Hampshire Public Utilities that our consultation and certification services resulted in the most energy efficient ENERGY STAR home certified in New Hampshire in 2010. This was a co-operative effort between our Home Energy Raters and Beam Construction. This home achieved a Home Energy Rating of 22 and is estimated to consume 78% less energy than a home built to the basic energy code.

LR ThermalScan Wins Extreme Auditor Competition
Lakes Region ThermalScan is pleased to announce taking first place in the 2011 "Better Buildings" Extreme Energy Auditor competition. This was a fun competition hosted by the New Hampshire Better Buildings Program and meant to promote residential energy efficiency and demonstrate the capabilities of a professional auditor and the tools of our trade. What we found was some very serious competition from "Next Step Living," a Massachusetts based company who arrived in force with a squad of energy auditors and a serious intent of taking the title. Though out manned 4 to 2, when
the dust settled the judges ruled that Lakes Region ThermalScan won the day. Paul Callahan, the owner of Lakes Region ThermalScan States: "As a former fighter pilot this certainly got my competitive
side in gear, Gil Richardson, my senior auditor, and I rolled up our
sleeves and got to work to show the guys from Massachusetts who was Top
Gun in New Hampshire air space.
